Many of these reside throughout in counties served by the the Mid-Illinois Chapter of the Red Cross. 

Those employees and their families, neighbors, and friends are susceptible to losing their home and their belongings to a natural or man-made disaster, because disasters don't discriminate.  When that happens, the Mid-Illinois Chapter will be there to assist them with temporary, alternate housing and other basic human needs like food, clothing, comfort items, and lost medications.

Red Cross volunteers responded to a single family fire on South Crowder in Bethany, IL tonight. The blaze left 2 adults and 2 children (ages 6 and 3) homeless.  The Red Cross provided the family with their emergency disaster related needs.

A fire left one person without a home today.  Local volunteers responded to a fire on Riverview Drive in Decatur this afternoon.  The Red Cross is helping the individual with his emergency disaster needs.
